A summer friend
so the story goes..... this spring we noticed in front of the coffee shop a cute chicken and Annaka fell in love with him. Every day on the way to daycare and then on the way home to we would have to find the chicken and look at him. He was always in the same spot but as the flowers grew bigger through out the summer it got harder to see him. Annaka would be so disappointed if she wasn't able to see her chicken. This was every day and she never missed saying hi to him from the car. Today her and I went to the coffee shop to meet the duck face to face. We took pictures of her with her friend and even had a little conversation with him. It was a special day for her and for me to capture with the camera. Some day she will ask me why I took a picture of her with her chicken and I can show her this blog and tell her all about her summer friend.
Annaka meets her teachers
Annaka went to meet her teacher on Wednesday evening. Miss Tena and Miss Sara are their names. Annaka did really good, of course she found all the cows and horses and played with the doll house (or should we call it a animal house).
She officially starts school on Monday and is very very excited!! She said she knows she wont be scared because Miss. Tena is her teacher.

Summer has kept us really busy this year. Ally is in traveling softball this summer so we have kept busy driving back and forth to practice and going to all her games.

Today we went to the fair, of course we had to go through the cow barn first. I will post some pictures of it on here for you to see.
And last but not least.. we will be getting a new member of the family on July 31st. She is a 7 week old Golden Retriever. No name yet, we weren't expecting to find a female so we had a boy name all ready. Annaka would like to name her Roscoe but I just don't think it will work for me.
Its going to be really fun to have a new puppy around the place, I guess I have come to the conclusion that I am a animal person and will have several animals in my hosue for as long as I live. Our 10 year old Golden is going to love being a mom to the new one, she is so good with other animals and such a great dog.
So, thats it for now, posting has gotten so much harder with the kids getting older.
I will post pictures of the new arrival in 12 days, but whos counting?????

Our Forever friend, Russell
Making Playdough
These pictures really make me laugh, these are the animals that Annaka carries absolutely everywhere we go. By that I mean, the kitchen, the living room, the bathroom, anywhere in the house. We decided to make "blue play dough" today. Blue, because it is Annaka's favorite color lately. All her animals had to line up and watch us make it. Annaka really had fun stirring the play dough and adding the blue food coloring. Besides one time out for not wanting to listen to mommy say "no more blue in the play dough" she did really good. The bottom picture of her is playing with it, all of her animals of course had to come to the table with her and they all put their foot prints in it.

Potty Training
This is a typical night with Annaka, we are
working so hard on the potty training. She seems to get it one day and then the next its back to square one. I know eventually she will get it but it seems like it is taking her so much longer than it took Ally and Andrew. She cracks me up when she goes on the toilet, she is so serious about it. Especially if its #2, she has to have you hold her hands and she has to watch what is going on down there if you know what I mean. Then when its over we all sing the potty song and dance the pee-pee dance!!! The joys of a 2 year year old!

The River
Ally and Andrew love to go to the river and play. Ally asked if she could take Annaka there today after school so we decided to have an adventure and check this river thing out.
Other than the bunny poop Annaka had a good time, luckily both kids had rain boots so it didnt matter how dirty they got. Poor Andrew had to miss out on the fun becuase he had a robotics class at school. We are lucky to have the "river" the kids go down there alot and have adventures with the neighbor kids as well. Even Uncle Kip ventures out into the unknown when he is here.
We have also started potty triaing in the last 2 weeks, Annaka really caught on once she figured out what the toiliet was for. Tonight she even did #2 for Scott and I. She told us, "I have a turd coming out". At least she lets us know!
Next week we leave for DISNEY WORLD! We cant wait, 7 days of magical dreams come ture. I think I am as excited as the kids are or maybe even a little more. I have heard so many good things about Disney World that I cant wait to go.
